    Stir it up: The impact of building induced turbulence Onderstaand artikel van Robert Brons is overgenomen uit IFALPA news, juli 2006. Robert is lid van de Aircraft Design and Operation Committee en vertegenwoordigt IFALPA bij de Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP). For a number of years the pilot community has voiced concerns about the reliability and accu-racy of reported wind for takeoff and landing. Of course we are dealing with a volatile and unstable atmosphere and as a result the wind is constantly changing in strength and direction.

    Sky Team Pilots Association signs Unprecedented International Mutual Assistance Agreement in support of the Delta and Northwest Pilots AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – Today the SkyTeam Pilots Association (SPA) signed an unprecedented International Mutual Assistance Agreement in support of the Delta and Northwest pilots. The Delta and Northwest pilots are embroiled in a struggle against unjust concessionary demands by Delta and Northwest management on their Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    The SkyTeam Pilots Association (SPA) met in a Regular Session in Rome, Italy on September 21 - 23, 2005. At this meeting, representatives from all the SkyTeam Alliance pilot unions were present. The SPA is composed of pilots from AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, Continental, CSA, Delta, Korean Air, KLM and Northwest.

    The (SPA) met at the 60th Annual IFALPA Conference in Cape Town, South Africa on April 6th and 7th, 2005. At this meeting, representatives from all the SkyTeam Alliance pilot unions were present. The SPA is composed of pilots from AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, Continental, CSA, Delta, Korean Air, KLM and Northwest.

    FAA Advisory inzake laser incidenten De Amerikaanse Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) heeft onlangs een ‘Advisory Circular’ (AC) doen uitgaan over de wijze waarop vliegers en verkeersleiders moeten optreden wanneer er sprake is van het richten van laserstralen op vliegtuigen. Aanleiding hiertoe is een aanzienlijke toename van dit soort incidenten. In de Verenigde Staten rapporteerde men in drie weken tijd maar liefst 31 laserincidenten met vliegtuigen. Maar ook in Australië neemt het aantal gebeurtenissen waarbij laserstralen op vliegtuigen worden gericht toe.

    Badhoevedorp, 28 september 2004 Op vrijdag 24 september jl. hebben de vliegers van Delta Airlines, NorthWest Airlines, Continental Airlines, Aero Mexico, Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Czech Airlines and Korean Airlines zich verenigd in de SkyTeam Pilot Association (SPA). Meer dan 30.000 vliegers worden door SPA vertegenwoordigd. De vliegers van SkyTeam werden eerder vertegenwoordigd door ‘Wings Pilots Coalition’ (KLM, NorthWest en Continental) en de ‘SkyTeam Pilots Alliance’.
