Which Membership Should You Choose?
Depending on your situation, you can choose one of three membership categories.
Full Member
You can become a full member of the VNV if you are employed as a pilot by one of the airlines recognized by the VNV. These currently include:
- KLM
- Martinair
- Transavia
- TUI fly Netherlands
- easyJet Netherlands
- KLM Flight Academy
Professional Association Member
You can become a professional association member if, as a Dutch airline pilot, you are employed by:
- a company in the Netherlands not recognized by the VNV;
- a company operating from the Netherlands not recognized by the VNV; or
- a commercial airline outside the Netherlands not recognized by the association.
Candidate Member
You can become a candidate member if you:
- are training to become an airline pilot at a flight training institute established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, or have successfully completed such training but are not yet employed as an airline pilot;
- hold Dutch nationality and are training to become an airline pilot abroad; or
- hold Dutch nationality and possess both a military pilot qualification and the theoretical Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
Membership Fees in 2026
- Full members pay in 2026 a contribution of 0.7% of their gross salary, after deduction of pension contributions and before deduction of any additional voluntary pension contributions.
- Professional association members pay €180 per year.
- Candidate members pay €30 per year.
Collection of Membership Fees
ClubCollect handles the collection of annual membership fees for candidate members, professional association members, and extraordinary members.
Membership After Retirement
Full members and professional association members may remain affiliated with the association after retirement as extraordinary members.
